Mr. Jackson is a litigation attorney with over 32 years of experience representing a wide variety of clients in jury and bench trials, arbitrations, facilitations and mediations, and he counsels clients in pre-trial strategies, negotiations, and planning. Mr. Jackson has handled litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout the country.  His practice focuses on class action defense, health care litigation, environmental litigation, shareholder disputes, construction litigation, personal injury defense, automotive supplier disputes and other complex commercial litigation matters.

Class Action Defense
  • Defended numerous publishers in defense of class actions brought by subscribers
  • Defended health care providers against class claims brought by all uninsured patients
  • Defended health care provider against class claims by all former patients of an employed physician
  • Defended numerous clients from property and personal injury claims surrounding alleged emissions and contamination from their facilities
  • Represented manufacturer in defense of claims alleging false advertising
  • Defended media entity in defense of breach of contract claims
  • Defended vehicle manufacturer in defense of breach of warranty and other claims
Health Care Litigation
  • Defended hospitals and health systems in defense of qui tam whistleblower/False Claims Act claims
  • Defended health care providers from class claims of all uninsured patients
  • Represented an HMO in a $60 million arbitration with a physician group
  • Represented a large regional hospital in a $25 million dispute with a vendor
  • Represented a hospital in a $10 million dispute between the hospital and a medical insurer
  • Represented a hospital against a competing hospital in connection with the operation and ultimate termination of a joint venture between the hospitals
  • Represented a hospital as to multi-million dollar disputes over Medicare reimbursement issues
Environmental Litigation
  • Represented a group of publicly traded companies in a Court of Federal Claims dispute involving claims in excess of $250 million
  • Obtained a multi-million dollar recovery in a cost recovery and contribution action against a former property owner
  • Defended numerous class actions seeking damages due to alleged emissions and contamination, including of groundwater
  • Defended manufacturer in Arizona WQARF proceedings
  • Defended numerous entities in CERCLA matters
Commercial Litigation
  • Defended a utility company in a multi-million dollar dispute with a coal supplier
  • Represented a Canadian home appliance company in a dispute with an international appliance manufacturer
  • Litigated a multi-million dollar contractual dispute between a landfill company and a customer
  • Represented an aggregate firm in a dispute with a software supplier
  • Represented a painting firm in a multi-million dollar dispute with a parts supplier
  • Defended national telecommunications company in disputes with customers
  • Defended automobile parts suppliers and other businesses in sales commission disputes under the Michigan Sales Representative Commissions Act
  • Represented automotive supplier in a dispute over the sale of its business
  • Counseled companies in disputes with shareholders over corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty and proxy issues
  • Defended home health care firm in a misappropriation of funds matter against its shareholders and a former employee
Securities and Commodities
  • Defended nationwide commodity fraud class action for companies and shareholders
  • Defended churning, misrepresentation and fraud claims in various fora for a futures commission merchant
  • Arbitrated National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) matters involving misrepresentation and fraud claims for securities broker-dealer
Construction Litigation
  • Represented shopping center owner in a multi-million dollar construction dispute against the contractor who built shopping center
  • Represented the owner in multi-million dollar disputes with the subcontractor after the general contractor filed for bankruptcy protection
  • Served as counsel for various contractual and lien disputes for owner with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Represented a general contractor in a multi-million dollar dispute against a local municipality, an engineer and the project manager
  • Represented general contractors in various contractual and lien disputes with subcontractors and suppliers in lien and other litigation
